Hunter Biden's defense team going after whistleblower claiming they "committed a crime"

Hunter Biden's defense team believes an IRS agent, who exposed two officials who covered for President Joe Biden's son, doesn't deserve whistleblower protection, Breitbart reported. Instead, attorney Chris Clark said the person "committed a crime" in disclosing details about the investigation.

The IRS recommended charges against Hunter Biden for tax violations, but two of the president's political appointees within the Department of Justice refused to move forward. The IRS whistleblower exposed this partisan decision, but Clark believes that's wrong.

Clark claims this "is a felony for an IRS agent to improperly disclose information about an ongoing tax investigation" rather than a protected informant. "The IRS has incredible power, and abusing that power by targeting, embarrassing, or disclosing information about a private citizen’s tax matters undermines Americans’ faith in the federal government," Clark asserted on behalf of Hunter Biden.

However, to someone not representing the younger Biden, this is certainly not the case. Mike Davis, who was a former Chief Counsel for Nominations to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley and the current president and founder of the Article III Project, said protecting the agent was necessary.

"Hunter Biden is clearly terrified that a nonpolitical career civil servant is exposing a senior Biden political appointee’s obstruction of federal investigations into the Bidens’ corrupt and illegal foreign dealings," Davis said. "The evidence is clearer by the day that Hunter Biden was the bag man for his father, and the President of the United States is compromised," he added.

"Hunter Biden should put down his crack pipe and do his research before having his fancy New York City attorney threaten a federal whistleblower with retaliation for simply doing his job," Davis sniped. “The Biden administration should also understand it will incur the wrath of Senator Chuck Grassley, a decades-long champion of whistleblowers, if it even thinks about retaliating against the Biden whistleblower,” he added.

However, it seems that the younger Biden is desperate to keep his alleged crimes under wraps. The IRS whistleblower revealed that federal prosecutors wanted to proceed against Hunter Biden more than a year ago but were thwarted.

Between a gun crime and three tax crimes they were hoping to pursue, Hunter Biden should certainly face prosecution. U.S. prosecutor David Weiss, who was appointed by Trump, has been mulling an indictment, but no charges have been filed.

Attorney General Merrick Garland refused to appoint Weiss as a special prosecutor to keep the Biden administration from meddling. The IRS whistleblower's attorney had cited Garland as one of the unnamed officials who was attempting to block further legal action.

The attorney claimed his client could "contradict sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee," who is believed to be Garland. The attorney general has claimed Weiss could bring charges but that Garland would have to sign off on it, which seems suspicious.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) seemed to believe that as well when he told Breitbart News Thursday that the president and Garland are guilty of abuses. "Under President Biden and Attorney General Garland, America is not equally applying justice and the rule of law," Johnson said.

"They are both equally culpable and responsible for abuse alleged by the IRS whistleblower,” he added. Meanwhile, the Biden administration insists there was no interference even as Hunter Biden's attorneys are set to meet with Justice Department officials next week, Fox News reported.

"Since he took office and consistent with his campaign promise that he would restore the independence of the Justice Department when it comes to decision-making in criminal investigations, President Biden has made clear that this matter would be handled independently by the Justice Department, under the leadership of a U.S. Attorney appointed by former President Trump, free from any political interference by the White House," White House spokesman Ian Sams claimed Thursday. Still, the alleged evidence speaks for itself.

Joe Biden has been in politics for decades and has many connections. From the facts that have come to light, it seems that influence has allowed him to shield his son -- but those days may soon be over.
