Fox 26 fired a Houston news anchor Wednesday after she announced on-air that she would be releasing a report against her company with Project Veritas.
Ivory Hecker made the announcement on Tuesday during a live segment on the Fox affiliate. She mentioned a whistleblower story that would reveal the company was keeping her from sharing certain stories with viewers.
The outlet released a statement to the Washington Examiner stating, “FOX 26 adheres to the highest editorial standards of accuracy and impartiality,” a spokeswoman for the station told.
“This incident involves nothing more than a disgruntled former employee seeking publicity by promoting a false narrative produced through selective editing and misrepresentation,” it added.
Project Veritas released the report on its website and on YouTube.
The report quickly went viral online, with news of the outlet’s alleged censorship the key emphasis of the story.
The reporter is now out of a job, but appears content to leave the network and instead speak out against her former employer for another outlet.
