House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan reveals DOJ has tried to influence federal elections four different times

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan underscored how the FBI and Department of Justice have sought to influence federal elections at least four times, the Western Journal reported. The Ohio Republican is predicting that they're gearing up to do it again in 2024.

Jordan was speaking to Maria Bartiromo on "Sunday Morning Futures" about the scandal involving President Joe Biden's mishandling of classified documents. He compared the FBI's treatment of Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in those similar scandals and concluded there was certainly a disparity that may have impacted elections.

Clinton was let off the hook and Biden has yet to receive his comeuppance. However, former President Donald Trump was subject to a raid at his Mar-a-Lago residence ostensibly to recover classified documents though they also rifled through his wife's closet and son's possessions, Fox News reported.

Moreover, it was all done ahead of the 2022 midterm elections suggesting it was intentionally timed that way. "That’s why we’ve created this select committee to look into some of this disparate treatment we see in the way the Justice Department operates," Jordan said.

The lawmaker will head up a committee dubbed "Church 2" after a 1975 endeavor by Sen. Frank D. Church that examined corruption in intelligence agencies. Bartiromo pointed out that the FBI and DOJ have interfered in recent election cycles, to which Jordan responded she was "exactly right."

"2016, they spy on Trump’s campaign," Jordan said. "2018, it’s the Mueller investigation," he added.

"2020, they suppress the Hunter Biden story," Jordan said. "2022, they raid the president’s home 91 days before an election, but they don’t tell us about Joe Biden’s classified document issue that they knew about prior to the election."

As for 2024, Jordan went on to say that the special counsels the DOJ appointed to go after Biden and Trump could skew the next contest. "Maybe the FBI should just stay out of things and let the American people decide who we want representing us in Congress and who we want as commander in chief and not weigh in on all these various elections," Jordan said.

When asked about how he would change that, Jordan told Bartiromon that his committee has a plan. "Step one in stopping this behavior is first exposing it and getting all the truth to the American people,” he said.

The lawmaker said the "motivation for having this committee" is to prevent the FBI and the DOJ from launching further attacks. Jordan said they would "expose all this and make sure it stops and doesn’t happen in this great country."

He's already on his way. Last week, Jordan told the New York Post that he had "dozens" of whistleblowers who "want to go public" waiting in the wings. "It looks to us that many have already been retaliated against by the FBI," Jordan added.

Some have had their hard-won security clearances simply revoked, while others have been suspended for speaking out. "One of them, his statement to our staff was that at the highest levels of the FBI, it’s rotted at its core," Jordan explained.

"This is a guy who is a proud agent, doing this because he wanted to serve, and now he’s saying his leadership is rotted at its core," Jordan added. With cooperation from insiders like that, Jordan and his committee could crack the scandal wide open.

There's definitely a pattern of questionable moves by the intelligence community when it comes to pre-election scandals. Whether it will be possible to clear the swamp and stop the deep state in time for the next election is still unknown.
