President Joe Biden and his administration have created a catastrophic situation in Afghanistan. Now it’s time for them to be held accountable, including State Department Secretary Antony Blinken.
Two Republican lawmakers introduced articles of impeachment against Blinken Friday, Breitbart reported. Reps. Ralph Norman (R-SC) and Andy Harris (R-MD) sought to hold Blinken’s feet to the fire for helping create the humanitarian and political disaster in Afghanistan.
“Secretary Blinken has failed to faithfully uphold his oath and has instead presided over a reckless abandonment of our nation’s interests, security, and values in his role in the withdrawal of American forces and diplomatic assets from Afghanistan,” the articles claimed, according to Fox News. They went on to add “Blinken failed to advise and counsel the President accordingly and did not inform the Congress nor American citizens at home and abroad of the dangers,” and went against the intelligence community’s recommendations.
In his statement to the news outlet, Norman explained the Blinken was Constitutionally obligated in “informing Congress and American citizens on the conduct of U.S. foreign relations,” the lawmaker said. “In Afghanistan, he failed to do so, leaving American citizens exposed in a city under the control of the Taliban,” Norman charged.
“Secretary Blinken is also responsible for the safety of American citizens abroad and, in the case of danger, the safe and efficient evacuation of those Americans – which he has not done thus far,” he added. Besides the overall mishandling of the withdrawal, Blinken furnished the Taliban with names of Americans, Afghans who assisted the U.S. efforts, and green card holders.
This information was provided ostensibly to facilitate their evacuation and move them through Taliban checkpoints. However, many saw this as a betrayal in giving the terrorist organization a “kill list” to know whom to target.
The Biden Administration gave the Taliban a list of Americans still in country.
They gave a Terrorist organization that they have said on the record that they DO NOT TRUST a kill list. Let that sink in.

American forces are expected to completely exit Afghanistan by Aug. 31 on Biden’s orders, according to CNN. This has left a precarious situation in the region, including facilitating a terrorist attack that killed 13 U.S. service members and injured dozens of others last week.
The fallout from Blinken and others who botched the whole operation will continue indefinitely. Proverbial heads need to roll over this crisis that has cost lives as well as American clout on the world stage.
