House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)is a partisan hack who has never been shy about that fact. However, her time may be up sooner than she hoped.
Pelosi has been targeted by the House Freedom Caucus, which is calling for her removal as Speaker, the Daily Caller reported. GOP caucus members have called on House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy to take action.
The letter urged McCarthy to “vacate the chair and Nancy Pelosi’s authoritarian reign as Speaker of the House” by the end of the month. They cited several complaints, including her handling of the investigation of the Jan. 6 incursion at the U.S. Capitol.
Refusing to seat Rep Jim Jordan & Rep Jim Banks on the Select Committee to Investigate Jan 6th is intolerable.

“Speaker Pelosi’s tenure is destroying the House of Representatives and our ability to faithfully represent the people we are here to serve,” the letter sent Friday said. “Speaker Pelosi has championed unconstitutional changes like allowing proxy voting and insulting security measures like metal detectors for Members coming to the floor to vote,” it continued.
“Less easily reversible is the damage done to the institution by the Leadership of one party dictating the ability of Members of another party to serve in roles at the discretion of their own conference,” the letter claimed. Pelosi led the effort and eventually succeeded in removing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from her committee appointments because of controversial statements she made on social media.
“That abuse cannot go unchecked,” the letter charged. “Speaker Pelosi’s refusal to seat Rep. Jim Jordan and Rep. Jim Banks on the Select Committee to Investigate January 6 is intolerable,” the Freedom Caucus said of the Ohio and Indiana lawmakers respectively.
The letter cited a rule that allows for such a change under these circumstances. However, it’s a longshot since Democrats control the House of Representatives.
Pelosi has been in Washington, D.C. for decades and has never hidden her unabashed partisanship. She has always gotten away with it, though the Republicans are not letting her off the hook so easily this time — and there are quiet rumblings that suggest she’s as unpopular as ever in her own party.
