House Democrats vote down resolution to investigate Biden family's "international business schemes"

Just a peek into Hunter Biden's life shows how corrupt he is. Democrats are hoping the GOP won't get the full story.

House Democrats voted down a resolution on inquiry Tuesday that requested documents pertaining to President Joe Biden's family's "international business schemes," Fox News reported. The House Oversight and Reform Committee debated the resolution, with Democrats overruling it.

Republicans contend that Hunter Biden's laptop revealed his shady foreign business dealings and the use of his father's name for influence. They requested all documents pertaining to the younger Biden's businesses.

"It is time for President Biden to answer some questions about his participation in his family's business schemes with some of our most significant adversaries for years, including the Chinese Communist Party," the committee's highest-ranking Republican, Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, said. Hunter Biden has lucrative deals in Ukraine and China, and some wonder if Biden hasn't used his position to help him make more money.

Hunter Biden assisted a Chinese company's purchase of a cobalt mine in Congo. The mineral is used to make batteries for electric cars, and, perhaps not so coincidentally, the president's energy policy is heavily focused on the switch from gas-powered to electric vehicles.

The president claims to have not spoken to his son about his business dealings. "Frankly, it's a lie," Rep. Byron Donalds said.

"So do you mean to tell me that Joe Biden… had no idea that his son was engaged in the sale of a cobalt mine to a Chinese company at the same time when the centerpiece of Joe Biden's energy policy is electric cars in the United States?" Donalds said. "Come on, folks. That is just crazy."

New York  Rep. Carolyn Maloney, a top Democrat on the committee, said the request for the documents was "nakedly partisan" because nobody involved has a "role in the administration." However, Joe Biden is president and his connections matter.

Just because his son isn't in the administration doesn't mean Joe Biden isn't doing all he can to help him -- especially if he gets a kickback. Of course, Republicans won't let this rest if they retake Congress in November.
