The House Democrats campaign organization accidentally leaked their own internal emails about how to brand their anti-Trump strategy, according to Breitbart News, and it’s not reflecting on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) very well.
The Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) unintentionally sent the internal exchanges to reporters Thursday, which showed some disagreement over how to handle their party stance on former President Donald Trump in light of the upcoming midterm elections.
Reporters came into possession of the emails when a press release was sent out on Thursday with the subject line “SIX MONTH REVIEW: LIE, CHEAT, STEEL.”
It was soon learned that the release was not meant for public consumption, but rather “an internal back-and-forth between the committee and a campaign staffer over wording and strategy.”
A report from National Journal’s Hotline’s Wake-Up Call indicates that the internal staff debate at the DCCC indicates that even lower-level Democrats are concerned how it will look if they constantly highlight Trump in their campaign materials.
According to the same report, some of the staffers were concerned that if they bring up the electrifying former president It could be “stoking the former president’s base.”
The opportunity was not lost on the Communications Director for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), Michael McAdams, who tweeted his response saying, Whenever you think @spmaloney‘s @dccc crew reaches a new low they come back and do something dumber.”
“Not only did the @dccc blast out their own internal back and forth to their entire press list…they’re letting losing campaigns dictate their messaging strategy,” McAdams said referencing the staffer who sent the email.

The DCCC reportedly declined to give a comment to the Huffington Post about the leak.
