The left is in a tizzy after Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis sent migrants to Martha's Vineyard. Democrats are attempting to spin this against him, but have yet to land on a criticism that isn't laughable.
Hillary Clinton said DeSantis was engaged in "human trafficking" by moving planeloads of illegal immigrants to friendlier areas, the Washington Examiner reported. The former Secretary of State and twice-failed presidential candidate made this outrageous claim on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Friday.
"I think, Joe, you have laid out the craziness of the time in which we're living, where some politicians would rather not only have an issue but exacerbate it to the extent of literally human trafficking," Clinton claimed. DeSantis had Democrats apoplectic after he flew some 50 migrants to the affluent island Thursday.
Clinton said that the people of Martha's Vineyard, a popular destination for the rich and famous, would be welcoming and eager to assist them. "I happen to believe still the majority of Americans are goodhearted and generous," she claimed.
She called on lawmakers to come up with a bipartisan solution to immigration and attempted to deny the left's established take-all-comers mentality. "Nobody wants open borders … but nobody wants inhumane, terrible treatment of human beings either," Clinton said.
"What we should have been doing is to come together to reform, change, and better fund the system by which we deal with these issues," she said. Clinton also excoriated Texas GOP Gov. Greg Abbott, who similarly shipped illegal immigrants to so-called sanctuary states.
President Joe Biden added his two cents and accused the GOP of "playing politics with human beings, using them as props" at a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. "It's un-American — it's reckless," he claimed.
For decades, Democrats have been using illegal immigrants as political pawns despite the human cost of allowing open borders. Now that these same people are being sent to their own backyards to be cared for, the left is leveling outrageous charges against Republicans -- but it's doubtful they'll stick.
