Herschel Walker finds campaign help from Gov. Brian Kemp in Senate runoff

Georgia Senate hopeful Herschel Walker has received help from Republican Gov. Brian Kemp as he seeks to defeat Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock in the state's runoff election.

Kemp and his wife showed up at an event on Saturday to support Walker as he continues his battle to keep the Senate in a 50-50 tie.

Campaigning together

"Great to have @BrianKempGA and @GAFirstLady join Julie and I today with a great crowd in Smyrna! The people are ready to evict Raphael Warnock on December 6th!" Walker tweeted.

The Smyrna event comes just two over two weeks ahead of the state's runoff that was required as neither candidate received 50% of the vote.

Kemp speaks out

"Look, we cannot rest on our laurels here," Kemp told an audience of Walker supporters in a Cobb County, Georgia, parking lot on Saturday, Fox News reported.

"Who do you want to fight for you in the United States Senate? Do you want a guy that represents our values like Herschel Walker, or do you want a guy who's stood with Joe Biden 96% of the time?" he added.

Walker has continued to attack Warnock in his latest ad, focusing on the senator's rental properties that have evicted and reportedly mistreated tenants.

The problem is especially concerning as Warnock serves as the minister at the church formerly led by Martin Luther King Jr.

The battle continues to heat up as both sides seek a final win for the last remaining seat in the Senate.
