Vice President Kamala Harris laughed at a reporter who asked about Americans trapped in Afghanistan during her trip to South Asia.
Harris was asked, “What’s your response to reports of Americans—”
The vice president answered, “Hold on. Hold on. Slow down, everybody.
“Hahaha. Um, I want to talk about two things. First, Afghanistan — we couldn’t have a higher priority right now.”

The response came as thousands of Americans remain trapped in Afghanistan following President Joe Biden’s failed withdrawal from the nation. In addition, thousands of Afghan allies have also been placed in harm’s way as the Taliban has quickly taken control of the nation.
As the situation in Afghanistan unfolds, Harris continues with plans to visit South Asia, including a stop in Vietnam. The irony of the visit has been noted by many, as Biden’s Afghanistan moment has been compared with the fall of Saigon.
Harris continues to struggle for a win with the media as she seeks to exhibit leadership, this time in South Asia. The ongoing concerns with the vice president come as Biden also faces tough scrutiny over his policies related to Afghanistan, America’s southern border, inflation and other issues.
