Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) has kept a very low profile since initially being chosen as former Vice President Joe Biden’s running made in August. There’s good reason for this, as many have pegged her as the most radical leftist Senator in the halls of Congress.
Harris validated that fear on Monday when she tweeted that it’s time to implement new “gun safety” measures as part of her remembrance of the December 14, 2012 tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary. Many fear that the Joe Biden administration will initiate a gun grab as soon as installed in the White House, and Kamala Harris has indicated that the issue is at the forefront of her mind.
Harris tweeted on Monday:
Today marks 8 years since 20 first-graders and 6 educators were murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary School. To honor the lives lost in this terrible tragedy, it’s past time we implement common-sense gun safety reforms to keep our children safe.
The issue of gun control is — most likely — at an all-time low in popularity due to the outbreak of violence all over the nation, but Democrats have not lost sight of their goal to disarm law-abiding citizens nationwide.
Breitbart noted on Monday:
The “common-sense gun safety” being pushed for the Biden administration includes a ban on the sale of firearms which Democrats label “assault weapons,” as well as a ban on “high capacity” magazines, and the implementation of universal background checks.
One of the “gun safety” pledges of the incoming Biden administration is to “prohibit the use of federal funds to arm or train educators to discharge firearms.”
The Biden campaign page says, “We should be passing rational gun laws, not requiring educators who already have too much on their plates to also protect the safety of their students.”
Harris, and other Democrats of a similar mind, use tragedies like Sandy Hook to renew their push for “common sense” gun control with a real goal of removing the possibility of owning firearms for protection altogether.
Instead of arming teachers or resource officers on campuses nationwide to deter further tragedies, Harris tweeted last year that “we need to give teachers a raise — not guns,” blatantly ignoring the very real tragedies that could have been prevented by a “good guy with a gun.”
Harris is biding her time, quietly waiting for Biden to be inaugurated, but make no mistake — she will not be silent once installed in the White House.
