Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott tweeted on Monday, floating the question of whether President Joe Biden should be removed through the use of the 25th Amendment over his handling of removing American troops from Afghanistan.
“After the disastrous events in Afghanistan, we must confront a serious question: Is Joe Biden capable of discharging the duties of his office or has time come to exercise the provisions of the 25th Amendment?” Scott tweeted.

Scott also criticized Biden’s response to other key issues on Twitter. “Inflation is raging. The debt ceiling expired & U.S. debt is headed to $45 TRILLION. Kabul is falling to the Taliban & encounters in the #BidenBorderCrisis just hit a 20 YEAR HIGH.
“Democrats control the House, Senate &@WhiteHouse. What in the world is Joe Biden doing?”
Scott was not alone in his remarks on Twitter. The term 25th Amendment was trending within the top 10 hashtags on Monday in several thousand posts.
Biden provided his first response in six days to the crisis in Afghanistan. He flew from his vacation at Camp David to the White House for the speech, but then declined any questions and immediately returned to Camp David.
Americans from all parties are growing increasingly concerned with Biden’s lack of response to key issues facing the nation. Scott’s reference to the 25th Amendment is the end result an increasing number of people are giving regarding these concerns.
