GOP Rep. suggests that a Biden impeachment is forthcoming

A Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives just suggested that it is very likely that President Joe Biden will be impeached.

That Republican is U.S. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN). He made the suggestion on Friday during an appearance on the Fox News Channel's Mornings with Maria.

There, the topic of conversation was the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) whistleblower.

In case you missed it, last week, an IRS whistleblower - via his or her attorney - sent a letter to Congress alleging corruption in the ongoing investigation of the president's son - Hunter Biden.

Hunter Biden, since 2018, has been under federal investigation for, among other things, offenses related to his business and tax affairs. The investigation is said to have virtually finished a year ago, and reports have indicated that authorities believe they have sufficient information to charge Hunter Biden with several crimes.

Yet, no charges have been brought, and NBC News recently released a report indicating that authorities are "growing frustrated" with the situation.

So, the big question is "Why the delay?" The IRS Whistleblower would appear to have the answer.

In the letter that was provided to Congress, the whistleblower, among other things, alleges that politics is corrupting the federal Hunter Biden investigation.

We do not know who the whistleblower is. The individual has chosen to remain anonymous for the time being, only identifying himself or herself as a career IRS criminal supervisory special agent, who appears to have some relation to the agency's investigation of the Hunter Biden situation.

Burchett, during his Fox appearance, commented on this whole situation, and, in the process, he suggested that impeaching Biden is now likely to happen based on the IRS whistleblower's letter.

Burchett said:

This is just the very tip of the iceberg. This very brave IRS agent coming forward, I think will just start it. They're talking about impeaching Biden. How could we not impeach Biden if this does, in fact, reach him?

We'll see if Burchett turns out to be right.

In the meantime, it remains unclear how this whole whistleblower situation is going to play out. The whistleblower has yet to provide specifics to Congress. But, through his or her attorney, the whistleblower has claimed that he or she can back up everything stated in the letter.

As Burchett put it, "I cannot imagine how the Justice Department allowed this to go on, if not for corruption at the highest level. And, they are in some serious trouble right now. I think they know it."
