GOP Rep. Steube released from hospital after being critically injured

Florida Republican Rep. Greg Steube was released from the hospital after a fall from his rooftop during home repairs last week that left him in critical condition.

Steube shared an update on Saturday to share that he was home.

His statement

“I’m grateful to be home and recovering after being discharged from the hospital today. All praise and glory goes to God! Jen and I remain endlessly blessed by the prayers and support from our friends, family, and community,” Steube tweeted.

“I would like to extend my deepest thanks to the entire team at Sarasota Memorial Hospital for the excellent care I received. My office will provide updates next week on how my recovery will impact my return to Washington,” he added.

The injuries

"Steube sustained 'several serious injuries' when he fell off a ladder while cutting trees on his property, his office said Thursday. He spent the night in the intensive care unit after Wednesday’s 25-foot fall," Newsmax reported.

"Steube was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and just began his third term. He represents all of Sarasota and Charlotte counties and part of Lee County," it added.

Stuebe's return will be good news for Republicans who will need every vote they can for the party's new legislation after taking back a slim majority in the House.

The House is moving forward on several investigations as well after selecting Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as House Speaker following a week-long 15 rounds of voting followed by days of committee leadership assignments.

The party is also interested in the investigation over President Joe Biden's classified document found in his Penn Center office and his Delaware home. The Penn Center batch was from his time as vice president under former President Barack Obama.

The latest report of Steube is encouraging for the people of Florida as well, as he helps his southwest district to recover from Hurricane Ian.

The list of projects continues to grow and the congressman's health will be a vital part of keeping him involved in the many changes impacting the nation.
