New York is a Democrat-leaning state. However, one district has turned solidly red, and it looks like it's poised to stay that way.

A recent poll revealed that GOP Rep. Nicole Malliotakis is six points ahead of former Democratic Rep. Max Rose in the race for New York's Eleventh Congressional District, Breitbart reported. This is the second time the two will match up after Malliotakis bested Rose in 2020 for the same seat. 

The Spectrum News/Siena College poll conducted September 27 to 30 found that 49% will vote for percent will vote for Malliotakis and only 43% for Rose. This came from a survey of 451 likely voters.

On a more granular level, it appears Malliotakis is making strides with independents. While 62% would vote for the Republican, only 25% said the same about the Democrat.

Among Democratic voters, 58% said they were unhappy with President Joe Biden and would vote GOP this time around, while 75% still maintained they would vote for Rose. Still, Rose has other problems of his own making.

His race was one targeted by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in its "Red to Blue" program that helps struggling Democrats in key districts get elected. However, Rose previously denigrated such assistance.

"Now, when it comes to national Democrats, they're not going to win this race either. They can only lose it," the former Congressman said of such an approach. "Time and again, they come into this race with their high-powered consultants and absolutely no knowledge of what's going on," Rose said.

Republicans are trying to retake the House of Representatives from Democratic control and out of the claws of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In order to pull this off, they have to net gain five seats.

As Election Day quickly approaches, it's becoming clear that Democrats are desperate. Biden has been a disaster for America at a time when the party needs to convince the nation that they should be in power.
