Lawyers for Ghislaine Maxwell are requesting a new trial after one of the jurors told media outlets he was a sex abuse victim.
U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan has now set a schedule for both sides to respond to the request after Maxwell legal counsel Jeffrey Pagliuca said “the Court can and should order a new trial” based on the new information.

From the perspective of Maxwell’s lawyer, the information “presents incontrovertible grounds for a new trial.”

The juror, referred to as Scotty David, has not also secured an attorney in the case, according to Fox News.
Maxwell was convicted on Dec. 29 on charges related to grooming girls who were sexually abused by Jeffrey Epstein.
The new twist will lead to more controversy as both the court and the court of public opinion speak on the matter.
