Georgia GOP Gov. Brian Kemp holds lead over Stacey Abrams in latest poll

Georgia Republican Gov. Brian Kemp holds a six-point lead over Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams in the latest poll by the Trafalgar Group.

The poll of more than 1,000 likely voters showed 50.6% supporting Kemp.

"Abrams, running against the incumbent for the second time, only received 44.2 percent in the poll, six points behind Kemp," Breitbart News reported.

"The gubernatorial race poll is a good sign for Kemp’s reelection effort. The poll also showed that 1.6 percent would vote for another candidate, Shane Hazel, while 0.1 percent said, 'other' and 3.5 percent were undecided," it added.

The poll is good news for Kemp and Republicans in the state. Georgia U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker also leads over Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock in the most recent poll.

The polls appear to side with conservatives, but the close numbers mean those who show up on election day are more important than ever in determining the future leadership of the Peach State.
