Gavin Newsom criticized for skipping town while Californians died in historic blizzards

A fair criticism of California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is that his ability to read the room, which is an especially important skill for a governor, is non-existent.

According to Breitbart, many parts of California recently experienced dangerous and deadly amounts of winter precipitation, with a current death toll of at least 12.

This is the same weather system, which included blizzards, that Newsom quickly jetted away from, traveling to Baja California. Making matters worse, he seemingly slow-walked declaring state emergencies for the affected areas.

Breitbart noted:

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reported Wednesday that twelve people have been found dead after the recent blizzards in nearby mountains — with some of the deceased trapped within their homes.

"Ted Cruz - a federal official - was killed in the media for leaving his state during a crisis Left wing nut job Gavin Newsom - a Governor - goes on vacation during a blizzard that trapped thousands of California residents & not a peep from the media," former Trump White House press secretary Sean Spicer tweeted.

The storms that passed through in February, in some places, dumped up to 10 feet of snow.

According to Fox News, after the general public roasted Newsom, his office released a statement.

"The Governor was on a personal trip in Baja California," his office told Fox News Digital Monday evening. "He returned to the state on Sunday, meeting with emergency personnel at the State Operations Center and receiving a briefing on current conditions."

While Californians were literally dying and fighting for their lives, Newsom spent some quality time on a nice Baja vacation.

Remember when none of us were allowed to go out and eat, but Newsom was somehow allowed to dine at the most luxurious restaurants in the country?

Newsom's governing skills make Vice President Kamala Harris look like an effective vice president, and that's saying something.
