Gabby Petito’s family appeared on “60 Minutes” Australia to urge her fiance Brian Laundrie to turn himself in to law enforcement.
“60 Minutes” Australia noted, “The disappearance and murder of Gabby Petito, and the ongoing mystery surrounding the whereabouts of her fiancé Brian Laundrie, have been making headlines for over a month. It’s a crime that remains just as inconceivable now as when we first heard about it.
“How could a carefree young couple’s adventure travelling across the United States spiral so far out of control? And why wasn’t more done to protect Gabby when there were such obvious signs she was in danger? Her heartbroken parents spoke to 60 Minutes about their love for their precious daughter, and their mission to find out what really happened to her.”
The case made news once again as a coroner announced Petito’s cause of death as strangulation. Laundrie remains the key suspect.
However, with his disappearance more than a month ago, search efforts for Laundrie are beginning to grow concerned about finding him. Despite reports he was spotted along the Appalachian Trail, no confirmation was made.
The focused search in Florida has also led to a dead end. Cadaver dogs have also been used in his last known area, in case Laundrie had lost his own life in the park.
The case has certainly taken a toll on Petito’s family and the American people, who seek to see Laundrie found and brought to justice.
