Freedom Convoy crowdfunding hacker reveals himself on TikTok

The alleged hacker involved in blocking a crowdfunding project for the Canadian trucker Freedom Convoy on GiveSendGo revealed his identity on TikTok.

Aubrey Cottle claimed responsibility for the Sunday hacking effort in a video, saying he would do it again.

“Yes, I tossed the trucker. I hacked GiveSendGo, and I’d do it again. I’d do it a hundred times. I did it. I did it. Come at me. What are you going to do to me?” Cottle, known as “Kirtaner,” said in the video.

“I’m literally a famous f***ing cyberterrorist, and you think that you can scare me?” he added.

GiveSendGo restarted the fundraiser on Tuesday morning. The Freedom Convoy has already raised more than $9.5 million.

“We are in a battle. We didn’t expect it to be easy. This has not caused us to be afraid. Instead, it’s made it even more evident that we can not back down. Thank you for your continued support, prayers, and the countless emails letting us know you are standing with us,” the company said.

It is unclear what consequences the hacker will face, though the reveal is likely to lead to further investigation.
