Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro applaudes Johnny Depp for massive legal victory

Johnny Depp won his lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard Wednesday. After the seven-week defamation trial came to a close, Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro applauded Depp.

Pirro praised the jury and Depp after he was awarded $15 million in damages, Fox News reported. Depp was suing Heard for an op-ed she penned accusing him of domestic abuse.

“Amber Heard tried to use the system and the jury saw through the lies,” Pirro said on “The Story” following the verdict. The televised trial shed light on both parties’ misdeeds during their marriage, but Depp ultimately prevailed in proving Heard’s side of the story was a lie.

Pirro also praised Depp for pursuing truth in the face of such a public display that would ultimately paint both of the ex-spouses in a negative light. “He rolled the dice,” Pirro said.

“He could have said, you know what? Maybe I’ll come out worse than I already am…[but] It was clear that the man was at the bottom,” the celebrity judge continued.

“He couldn’t go any lower, and he felt that there was nothing to lose by going forward. Hopefully, this is a man who will have faith in the justice system, who will talk about how important justice is,” Pirro said.

“It was a disgusting thing that Johnny Depp had to make a decision, to lay out his life in front of America,” she added. “These jurors could have said, you know what? You’re both disgusting…but they didn’t,” Pirro said.

“They said we believe him. She is not only unbelievable, she’s malicious,” Pirro said of Heard. “She’s cruel. She’s callous and she’s incapable of being believed and therefore we will give him punitive damages in the amount of $5 million. That’s a huge verdict, a huge message here.”

Depp walked away the winner in this legal battle. However, the sad fact is that the dissolution of a marriage between two troubled parties is never cause for celebration — even when justice has been served.
