The Biden administration is covering up Trump’s climate progress, according to a new interview released by Breitbart.
Andrew Wheeler, former Trump administration Environmental Protection Agency Administrator confirmed that “During the Trump administration, we were reducing our CO2 emissions faster than any of our European allies.”
He continued, “We don’t have to join the Paris Climate Accord, but by joining it, it allows China to get off without doing anything on climate and it requires us to pay a lot of money to other countries that, quite frankly, aren’t meeting their own obligations,” referring to France and Germany.
“But we always meet our obligations, so it hurts us, and there’s no real benefit because we were already reducing our CO2 emissions faster than any other Western economy,” he added.
Another area of importance related to the environment is jobs. When America creates its own energy rather than importing it from other nations, it decreases transportation costs to reduce environmental impact.
Second, energy development within the U.S. helps by creating production operations in a country with a high standard of environmental regulations. Unlike energy from China or the Middle East, U.S. energy production facilities meet the world’s highest standards for safety.
Many have argued against Trump’s removal of the U.S. from the Paris Climate Accords. However, the nation’s independent plans made greater progress at a lower cost, making the Trump administration’s environmental impact more cost-effective.
The Biden administration has returned to the Paris Climate Accords. However, the is not yet sufficient evidence to prove the move will enhance America’s climate change efforts.
Wheeler’s interviews offer a power counter-narrative to the left’s “Trump hates the environment” message. Instead, an accurate look reveals his administration provided numerous benefits to the environment often overlooked in mainstream media.
