Former Trump adviser Roger Stone warned former President Donald Trump that he should look out for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in an ominous video about the future of politics.
The political associate of the former president posted the short video to his social media accounts over Easter weekend where Stone claimed that he was reuniting at Mar-a-Lago resort with Trump in Florida the evening before, according to The Washington Examiner.
Shown in the clip, Trump apparently spots Stone and greets him, and after the two greeted each other, Stone says, “God bless you,” Trump says he will speak to Stone in the club. Before they part, Stone delivers his warning.
“Watch DeSantis,” he appears to say, adding, “He’s a piece of …” That’s when the clip cuts off. However, at least one reporter who shared the clip seemed convinced he said, “s***.”
In a post to his Gab account, Stone said, “Great to see the 45th and 47th President last night,” and even went so far as to allude to the possibility of a presidential campaign.
The previous Trump campaign associate seemed to be referencing the former president’s seeming affinity to run for the office of president again in 2024 and the possibility that DeSantis could run against, or even eventually, with the former president.
Before any of that could happen though, the pair would have to make it through the Republican primary race, where it appears that they might have to face off against one another.
In January of this year, several news organizations claimed that Trump and DeSantis were at odds. However, the pair both brushed it off as “fake news” and said that they have “a very good relationship with Ron and intend to for a long time.”
