Former Sebastopol, California, Democratic Mayor Robert Jacob gets seven years in prison for sex crimes involving children

Former Democratic Mayor Robert Jacob will be behind bars for seven years after pleading no contest to sex crimes involving children, Breitbart reported. Jacob was celebrated for being openly gay and a pioneer in the marijuana dispensary business.

Jacob, 45, served as mayor of Sebastopol, California, from 2013 to 2016 after a time serving on the city council. However, he pleaded no contest to six counts of sex crimes involving an underage boy.

He will serve seven years as part of a plea deal with the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office. The no-contest plea allowed him to broker such a deal without admitting a crime.

Prosecutors claimed that Jacob sexually assaulted an underage boy met using the gay dating app Grindr sometime in late 2019. He allegedly did so several times between then and March 2021.

The Democrat had also invited other men to abuse the boy and exchanged nude photos with him. Authorities were alerted to the crimes in 2021 and arrested Jacob that April.

The teen said Jacob made him call him "master" or "sir," telling him "it made him feel like he was in control” and “sexually aroused," the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reported. The boy was just 16 at the time.

The teen told his parents he was working for Jacob doing odd jobs. Following two occasions where Jacob allegedly had the boy perform sex acts on him and another man, he paid him $75 before sending him back home on his bicycle.

Before these disturbing facts came to light, Jacob was just another darling of the left. The New York Times called his "rise...a sign of the times" in a 2013 puff piece about him mainly because of his experience selling marijuana.

The Times pointed out that his family moved to Central Valley, California, but Jordan was "uncomfortable in the area’s conservative culture because he was gay, he said, at 15 he decamped to San Francisco, where he first lived in a homeless shelter for youths." It went on to tout his work with the downtrodden, including "H.I.V.-positive youths."

When he discovered people "hiding in their homes and basement and cabins, cultivating cannabis," Jordan partnered with others who went on to open a bonafide dispensary. The media used language suggesting that he was an upstanding citizen and pioneer.

"We went to a pay phone and I called the Police Department," Jacob had recounted "I said: ‘Hi, I’m Robert. I am a medical marijuana patient, and I want to grow cannabis in Sebastopol. Can you tell me what the rules are?'"

He went on to say that the officer explained the local laws, and Jacob was on his way. "Then we all got into the car and drove away from the pay phone as fast as possible," he claimed.

"We were afraid that they were going to come down and get us." He would go on to found the area's first dispensary, and the way the Times tells it, was welcomed with open arms.

Jacob's crimes are disturbing if true but not surprising. People in power seem to be prone to abuse, but more so when they are Democrats and have the support of the mainstream media.
