Florida's 'Operation Dirtbag' captures over 150 migrant predators

Brace yourself for a hard-hitting win in the Sunshine State, as a sweeping crackdown has netted over 150 unauthorized migrant sexual predators in a bold move to protect communities.

The New York Post reported that a major operation, aptly named “Operation Dirtbag,” conducted in Florida with the support of Governor Ron DeSantis, resulted in the arrest of more than 230 unauthorized migrants wanted for serious crimes, including drug offenses, murder, and sexual predation.

The operation, announced by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, targeted some of the worst offenders, with many having prior convictions for child molestation and sexual assault, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

This wasn’t just a random roundup—agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were seen escorting suspects into vans in Miami on May 21, 2025, showcasing the operation’s reach and resolve.

Photos of those charged were publicly displayed during a DHS press conference in Bradenton, Florida, on October 20, 2025, putting faces to the crimes and underscoring the gravity of the situation.

Detainees were also spotted at Krome Detention Center in Miami, managed by ICE, with aerial footage revealing individuals gathered on a basketball court and under canopies, a stark reminder of the scale of this effort.

Protecting Kids and Communities First

“This operation was called Operation Criminal Return. I call it Operation Dirtbag, because these individuals were sex offenders, but not just sex offenders, they targeted children,” Noem declared on “Fox & Friends.”

Let’s unpack that—when predators target the most vulnerable, it’s not just a crime, it’s a gut punch to every parent and decent citizen who expects safety in their neighborhoods.

“These 150 individuals will be off our streets. Our kids will be safer,” Noem added, and it’s hard to argue with results that prioritize the well-being of families over political posturing.

Noem didn’t stop there, expressing a clear intent to replicate this model across the United States, signaling that this is just the beginning of a broader push for public safety.

Meanwhile, federal Border Patrol agents, initially tasked with rounding up unauthorized migrants in Chicago, have shifted to other major cities to continue the Trump administration’s crackdown, showing a national scope to these efforts.

ICE operations are set to persist in Chicago, where a similar initiative launched in September 2025 has already yielded a 41% drop in robberies and a 35% decline in shootings, per DHS reports.

Political Pushback Meets Hard Results

Of course, not everyone is cheering—Illinois Democratic Governor JB Pritzker has criticized the focus on Chicago, but Noem fired back, arguing his “personal attacks” put his own constituents at risk every day.

While progressive critics may clutch their pearls over tough enforcement, the numbers don’t lie—when crime drops dramatically, as it has in Chicago, families breathe easier, regardless of political spin.

Operation Dirtbag and its ripple effects are a wake-up call: prioritizing community safety over ideological debates isn’t just common sense, it’s a duty—and one that’s finally being taken seriously.
