Former President Donald Trump and his legal team took a loss on Friday after a judge's shock decision means he's not gaining any ground in his legal battle against former Secretary of State and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
According to The Hill, Judge Donald Middlebrooks -- a Bill Clinton appointee -- called Trump's case against Hillary Clinton a "manifesto," essentially saying that in Middlebrooks' eyes, the case was nothing more than a waste of time for his court.
"Plaintiff is not attempting to seek redress for any legal harm," Judge Middlebrooks said.
He added: "Instead, he is seeking to flaunt a two-hundred-page political manifesto outlining his grievances against those that have opposed him, and this Court is not the appropriate forum."
In Trump's lawsuit, the former president accused Clinton, former FBI agents, and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) of having "orchestrated a malicious conspiracy to disseminate patently false and injurious information."
I served as law clerk to Judge Middlebrooks who is an excellent jurist. He dismissed Trump's frivolous racketeering lawsuit against Clinton & numerous other defendants last night. He called it “inadequate in nearly every respect.” Here is full opinion.https://t.co/vD9O5xuBOt

While many on the left cheered the decision, many others took issue with the fact that a Bill Clinton-appointed judge was in charge of this particular case.

Eric Knight, one of Trump's many lawyers, issued a statement in the wake of the ruling, writing, "Not only is it rife with erroneous applications of the law, it disregards the numerous independent governmental investigations which substantiate our claim that the defendants conspired to falsely implicate our client and undermine the 2016 Presidential election."
