The FBI is raising more questions than it's answering concerning the existence of an alleged document in the agency's possession that a whistleblower claims details a "criminal scheme" carried out by then-Vice President Joe Biden.
According to the Washington Examiner, in a recent closed-door meeting, the FBI still refused to hand over the document to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY).
The situation has created intense tension between House GOP leadership and the government law enforcement agency.
The FBI had previously failed to comply with a subpoena and subsequent requests for the alleged document.

The committee's chairman, Rep. James Comer (R-KY), revived his request for the FBI form to Director Christopher Wray on Friday, accusing the agency of interfering with his subpoena launched on May 3 with Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA). Weeks later, the bureau has yet to hand over the document, which Comer and Grassley say was first tipped off to them by a whistleblower.
Jessica Collins, a spokeswoman for the powerful, GOP-led Oversight Committee, explained the FBI's latest resistance measures.
"At today’s staff briefing with FBI officials, the FBI again did not produce the unclassified record subpoenaed by Chairman Comer," she said.
Collins added: "The Oversight Committee will announce next steps soon."
The FBI's latest refusal to comply with the request has forced Comer to issue threats, even dropping words like "contempt."

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene used the situation to sell "Defund the FBI" merchandise in a Tuesday tweet.
"FBI Director Wray is refusing to turn over a document subpoenaed by Oversight Chairman James Comer that a whistleblower identified that directly implicates Joe Biden in a foreign pay-to-play scheme when he was Vice President. The FBI is now the personal gestapo for Joe Biden and Merrick Garland to cover up the crimes of the Biden Family while persecuting anyone who would dare support President Trump. We must DEFUND THE FBI!" Greene tweeted.

According to the whistleblower's disclosure, the document outlines a "money for policy decisions" scheme involving Biden and an unnamed foreigner.
