FBI employees want Director Christopher Wray to resign for misconduct

The left is quick to blame police officers when something goes wrong on the streets. However, there are only crickets when it appears an entire arm of federal law enforcement is problematic.

Rank-and-file FBI employees believe Director Christopher Wray should resign because of perceived misconduct at the agency, the Daily Wire reported. These revelations came from Kurt Siuzdak, an attorney and former agent who represents FBI whistleblowers.

"I'm hearing from [FBI personnel] that they feel like the director has lost control of the bureau," Siuzdak reportedly said. "They're saying, 'How does this guy survive? He's leaving. He's got to leave.'"

These sentiments come as former assistant special agent Timothy Thibault, a 25-year veteran, was forced to resign amid revelations about his political bias. In 2020, he had made disparaging remarks on social media about former President Donald Trump while serving as a lead investigator on the Hunter Biden probe.

The FBI dismissed this worry in a statement to the Washington Times. "All employees are held to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct, and we expect them to focus on process, rigor, and objectivity in performance of their duties," the government agency said.

"Allegations of misconduct are taken seriously and referred to the Inspection Division or appropriate investigative body," the statement added. "In reality, the FBI is comprised of 37,000 employees who do it the right way on a daily basis to keep our nation safe by fighting violent crime, preventing terrorist attacks and defending America from espionage and cyber threats."

Despite those assurances, Republican lawmakers had been putting pressure on Wray long before Thibault's social media posts. In 2018, Florida GOP Gov. Rick Scott called for Wray's resignation over the FBI's failure to follow up on a tip about the Parkland school shooter and its mishandling of the Trump Russiagate hoax.

So far, it's only Republicans calling for someone to clean house at the FBI. Perhaps that means the left isn't against corruption as long as it is bent in their favor.
