Here’s a blatant case of a leftist politician not practicing what she preaches.
A new report from Fox News reveals that far-left Rep. Rashida Tlaib, during the COVID pandemic, made up to $100,000 in rental income while, at the same time, calling for rent to be canceled.
Fox obtained the information for its report from Tlaib’s latest annual financial disclosure report.
According to Fox, the report reveals that Tlaib “collected between $15,001 and $50,000 in rental income from a Detroit property in 2021.” Fox adds that Tlaib “reported the same rental income for 2020 last August.”
Thus, when one adds up the figures, Tlaib made somewhere between $30,000 and $100,000 in rental income during the COVID pandemic.
Yet, while she was doing so, Tlaib, as a congresswoman, was pushing a bill to cancel rent nationwide. Tlaib, and other members of the so-called “Squad,” first pushed the bill in early 2020, then they re-introduced the bill in the early spring of 2021.
One would think that if Tlaib sincerely believed that rent cancelation was the right thing to do, she would have led by example by not requiring rent from those renting from her.
Tlaib has yet to provide a statement on the matter.
But, for now, it appears to be yet another case of rules for thee but not for me.
