Democrat darling and favorite progressive scientist and expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci admitted last week that he doesn’t know and can only estimate what percentage of Americans need to be vaccinated to reach “herd immunity.” In fact, he depends on polling to decide the percentage needed.
After being called out on moving the goalposts to manipulate the American public, Fauci made the fatal mistake of doubling down on the insane confession.
Herd immunity is achieved when a majority of a population has become immune because they have already had the disease, or they have been vaccinated against it. The percentage of the majority is in question, and Dr. Fauci doesn’t have an answer.
Fauci originally said that 70 percent of the population would need to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity, but he has now moved up to 85 percent to 90 percent.
Fauci admitted that he proposed a lower number when polling data showed fewer people would be willing to take the vaccine. He has revised the percentage upward because polling now shows more people are willing to be vaccinated. Fauci said:
When polls stated solely about half of all People would take a vaccine, I used to be saying herd immunity would take 70 to 75 %. Then, when newer surveys stated 60 % or extra would take it, I believed, ‘I can nudge this up a bit,’ so I went to 80, 85.
CNN’s Dana Bash asked Fauci why he wasn’t being “straight” with Americans from the beginning. Fauci defended his changing estimates:
We have to realize that we have to be humble and realize what we don’t know. These are pure estimates, and the calculations that I made — 70%, 75% — it’s a range. The range is going to be somewhere between 70% and 85%.”
Fauci admitted that his numbers are just an educated guess for him:
The bottom line it’s a guesstimate, and I gave a range, and I use discussion like we are having now to encourage people to get to that goal of 75% to 85% of the people vaccinated, and that is where we really want to be.”
The venerated infectious disease researcher was again called out on the shocking claims during an appearance with CNN’s Dana Bash on Sunday, and again reiterated: “We have to realize that we have to be humble and realize what we don’t know. These are pure estimates, and the calculations that I made — 70%, 75% — it’s a range. The range is going to be somewhere between 70% and 85%.”
The immaculate and infallible Fauci has been exposed as neither. America needs to stop relying on his “expertise” to manage the COVID-19 epidemic.
