Establishment Republicans announce they are against impeaching Joe Biden

After regaining control of the House, establishment Republicans declared on Thursday that they are against impeaching President Joe Biden according to a report by Breitbart News.

Despite the fact that since 2021 nine articles of impeachment against Biden have been submitted by conservative House members, many establishment Republicans who are now more powerful in the majority disagree that Biden should be removed from office.

“We shouldn’t even be talking about that, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) told Politico. Fitzpatrick recently won his election by about ten points over his Democrat challenger.

“There’s so many problems we’ve got to deal with on the policy front … I don’t like the fact that that’s even being discussed,” Fitzpatrick whined.

Impeaching Joe Biden, like Democrats impeached former President Donald Trump for a "perfect phone call," is not appealing to independents, according to Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE), who won his reelection by about three points.

“I want to warn our colleagues: There may be some activists in our party that want impeachment. But I can tell you that the swing voters and the independent voters don’t. …We change leadership by elections, impeachment is the outlier,” Bacon said.

Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK) reiterated the objections of the more traditional House members. By roughly 30 points, Cole won his district.

"Lacking the Senate hurts a lot, and I think, to be completely honest, the margin does matter. Many of the voters who gave us the majority come from seats that are considered to be moderate. Unless there was a compelling argument to do so, I would hate to put them in that situation," Cole added.

Nine articles of impeachment have been brought against Biden in the last two years. The sale of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to foreign countries, the open southern border, pandemic overreach, and the catastrophic departure from Afghanistan are all grounds for impeachment.

Conservative House warrior Rep. Jim Banks (R-ID) declared in September that Republicans will look into Biden and then reach a "proper decision" about whether or not to impeach him.

“When we get control, we need to launch investigations and let that lead us to the appropriate conclusion and repercussions,” Banks told Axios.

Prior to the midterm elections, likely House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy told Axios that he was primarily concerned with ousting Rep. Nancy Pelosi from the House. We recently released the Commitment to America, he claimed, and that is what we are concentrating on.

Republicans might hold Biden accountable for his mistakes, but the White House counsel's office spokesman, Ian Sams, has disputed that notion.
