Elon Musk announces that Twitter will now allow open debate on scientific matters while slamming Dr. Fauci

Twitter owner Elon Musk announced that the platform's new policy will allow for open debate about scientific matters, the Daily Wire reported. Musk slammed Dr. Anthony Fauci and the mainstream media for previously attacking those speaking against the official narrative.

The Tesla mogul announced Twitter's standard in a tweet Wednesday. "New Twitter policy is to follow the science, which necessarily includes reasoned questioning of the science," Musk said.

This statement played off of what became the mantra during the coronavirus beginning in 2020. However, the Twitter Files reveal that the narrative was carefully crafted independent of -- and sometimes in opposition to -- science, Fox Business News reported.

According to Free Press writer David Zweig, the files revealed that doctors and scientists with differing opinions were silenced. "Twitter did suppress views—many from doctors and scientific experts—that conflicted with the official positions of the White House," Zweig said.

"As a result, legitimate findings and questions that would have expanded the public debate went missing," Zweig added. Fauci was the top official churning out that narrative as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

In his own self-aggrandizement, Fauci claimed that any contradiction to the official narrative was a defacto attack on science itself. In an interview in November with Margaret Brennan on CBS "Face the Nation," Fauci said that "anybody who’s looking at this carefully realizes that there’s a distinct anti-science flavor to" his detractors.

"So if they get up and criticize science, nobody’s going to know what they’re talking about. But if they get up and really aim their bullets at Tony Fauci, well, people could recognize there’s a person there," he said of himself.

"There’s a face, there’s a voice you can recognize, you see him on television," Fauci again claimed while speaking of himself in the third person. "So it’s easy to criticize, but they’re really criticizing science, because I represent science," Fauci claimed. "That’s dangerous," he added.

There's no doubt Musk had Fauci and this idea in mind with his new policy, as evidenced by a reply in a separate tweet. When popular evolutionary scientist Gad Saad posted a satirical video about Fauci's exit just as the Republicans retook the House of Representatives, Musk made his views clear.

"Anyone who says that questioning them is questioning science itself cannot be regarded as a scientist," Musk tweeted a reply to the video. He subsequently posted his own meme mocking the lack of scientific discourse.

Musk has been on a crusade of sorts to uncover the past sins of Twitter leaders. In the course of this mission, Musk has dropped major bombshells that land with a thud with the mainstream media while sending social media into a frenzy.

One of the revelations confirms how much Big Tech manipulated messaging at the behest of the government. "*Every* social media company is engaged in heavy censorship, with significant involvement of and, at times, explicit direction of the government," Musk said in reply to a statement by journalist Matt Taibbi.

"The government was in constant contact not just with Twitter but with virtually every major tech firm," Taibbi said in a screenshot posted by Musk to make his point. "These included Facebook, Microsoft, Verizon, Reddit, even Pinterest, and many others. Industry players also held regular meetings without government," Taibbi said.

Scientific advancement can only happen in a situation where experts are allowed to debate ideas and share findings. Musk has Twitter on the right track, but it remains to be seen when the rest of the mainstream media will follow suit.
