Dr. Oz seizes on John Fetterman's growing list of liabilities on the trail

Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman appears to be on the ropes, on many different levels, and his opponent looks as though he'll seize on the Democrat candidate's weaknesses.

According to The Hill, Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Republican Senate candidate out of the Keystone State, is jumping on a string of bad press -- and embarrassing moments -- Fetterman has experienced over the past few weeks.

Fetterman has been almost totally resistant to challenges from Oz and his camp to a debate, which is a very normal and expected occurrence prior to an election, as the voters want to see what the two candidates have to say for themselves.

But Fetterman's reluctance to debate comes amid growing questions that his medical condition is far worse than he or his team let on, and it doesn't take but more than a few seconds of watching him attempt to speak at rallies to understand that the man is simply unwell.

Oz's campaign team is also making sure voters are well aware of a 2013 incident in which Fetterman pulled a firearm on a Black male jogger that, at the time, he suspected had committed a crime.

"It's full steam ahead," said one national Republican operative, according to The Hill. "I think Dr. Oz's shift is just everyone is coalescing around him and Fetterman can no longer hide behind Twitter."

When pressed on whether or not he would temporarily leave the "hide in the basement strategy" deployed in 2020 by then-candidate Joe Biden, Fetterman insisted that he'll do at least one debate.

"We're absolutely going to debate Dr. Oz, and that was really always our intent to do that," Fetterman told the outlet. "It was just simply only ever been about addressing some of the lingering issues of the stroke, the auditory processing, and we're going to be able to work that out."
