Dr. Fauci has a huge wall covered in portraits of himself.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) director and departing top medical advisor to the president, Dr. Anthony Fauci, seemed to be a little embarrassed that The New York Times observed his enormous wall of self-portraits at his home office.

The career bureaucrat doesn't want his detractors to interpret this as more proof that he is a narcissist of some kind, according to The Daily Wire.

Recently, Fauci sat down with an interview with the Times. His last day working for the government was December 30.

The first sentence of the questioned article stated, "The walls in Dr. Anthony S. Fauci's home office are adorned with portraits of him, drawn and painted by some of his many followers," as Jerry Dunleavy of The Washington Examiner pointed out.

The author of the Times article observed that “Dr. Fauci seemed a little uncomfortable with people knowing about the pictures.”

“He said that previously, when they were captured on camera, the ‘far right’ attacked him as an ‘egomaniac,’” Sheryl Gay Stolberg wrote. “If someone goes to the trouble of sending him a portrait of himself, he said, he would ‘feel like I’m disrespecting them’ if he discarded it.”

Fauci should be aware that there are many other factors outside the "far Right" that could lead people to think of him as someone who is overly self-absorbed.

The most telling statement made by Fauci, for instance, was when he claimed that COVID detractors were "attacking science" when they questioned his judgment during the pandemic.

In 2021, Fauci told NBC, “A lot of what you’re seeing as attacks on me, quite frankly, are attacks on science, because all of the things that I have spoken about, consistently from the very beginning, have been fundamentally based on science.”

“Sometimes those things were inconvenient truths for people, and there was pushback against me,” he said at the time.

“So if you are trying to, you know, get at me as a public health official and a scientist, you are really attacking not only Anthony Fauci, you are attacking science.”

Even one of the world's most talented and intelligent men does not share that opinion. Musk tweeted "scary" in response to the discovery of the Wall of Fauci. "Maybe he just loves looking at science," he joked later.
