Donald Trump threatens to launch lawsuit to strip Pulitzer Prize from media organizations that pushed Russian collusion hoax

Former President Donald Trump used his time in office to stand up to the fake news media. Even after leaving office, he’s still not backing down.

Trump threatened to slap Pulitzer Prize interim administrators with a lawsuit if they didn’t rescind the 2018 awards from the New York Times and The Washington Post for their reporting on the Russia collusion hoax, Newsmax reported. Both publications have since had large chunks of their award-winning reporting discredited.

The former president had written a letter in September with his demand in light of “false reporting of a non-existent link between the Kremlin and the Trump Campaign.” Both news outlets have had their work gutted after revelations surfaced that their sources lied to investigators about Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Michael Sussmann was the man who tipped off the FBI about alleged chattering between the former president’s campaign and a Russian bank. However, he failed to mention that he was also part of opponent Hillary Clinton’s campaign rather than a disinterested whistleblower.

Similarly, Igor Danchenko was instrumental in compiling the now-debunked Steele dossier that launched the investigation into Trump’s campaign. He has since been charged with “making false statements to the FBI” and has pleaded not guilty on all five counts.

With Trump’s letter unanswered, the former president’s attorney sent a more formal threat of legal action. “As highlighted in President Trump’s letter, it has recently become apparent that the subject articles were based on incontrovertibly false information provided by dubious sources who were maliciously attempting to mislead the public and tarnish our client’s reputation,” the letter, signed by Trump attorney Alina Habba from Habba Madaio & Associates, said.

“It is hereby demanded that the Pulitzer Prize Board take immediate steps to strip the New York Times and The Washington Post of the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting,” it later said. Pulitzer Prize Board’s failure to do so will result in prompt legal action being taken against it.”

Trump was the subject of many witch hunts during his time in office, but the most egregious was the Russia collusion hoax that painted Trump as a puppet for one of America’s adversaries. It’s time the fake news media who was responsible for it, and the organization that awarded them for it, owned up to their gross missteps.
