Donald Trump reveals over a dozen endorsements from key Texans

According to Fox News, Former President Donald Trump, over the weekend, revealed over a dozen endorsements that he has received - for his 2024 presidential campaign - from members of his Texas leadership team.

Breitbart News reports that "Trump has personally called and thanked all listed."

This is quite the contrast to U.S. President Joe Biden, who seems to struggle to do anything coherent - whether it is giving speeches or walking up a flight of stairs.

Trump announced the endorsements on Saturday, during his trip to Waco, Texas, where he held the first rally of his 2024 presidential campaign.

Trump's newest list of endorsements contains a number of big-name Texas politicians.

The list includes Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick (R) and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R).

It also includes U.S. Reps. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), Troy Nehls (R-TX), Wesley Hunt (R-TX), Michael Burgess (R-TX), Pete Sessions (R-TX), John Carter (R-TX), Randy Weber (R-TX), Roger Williams (R-TX), Brian Babin (R-TX), Beth Van Duyne (R-TX), and Pat Fallon (R-TX).

Finally, the list of endorsements includes Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, and former U.S. Rep. Mayra Flores (R).

There are some notable absences from the list. This includes Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and John Cornyn (R-TX).

Some are trying to make a big deal of the absences, but, except for Cornyn - who is certainly not a Trump Republican - the likely rationale for Abbott's and Cruz's absence is that they might have 2024 plans of their own. At least, this is the most logical explanation until Trump, Abbott, or Cruz explain otherwise.

Trump's campaign has stated that it will continue to seek Abbott's and Cruz's endorsements, which further supports the idea that there is not necessarily bad blood between Trump and Cruz or Abbott.

Trump's campaign, said in a statement, "coupled with President Trump's overwhelming support from grassroots activists, his campaign is uniquely positioned to win the 2024 Texas Republican Presidential Primary."

It remains to be seen whether Biden is going to be able to generate the same kind of support from Democrats that Trump is managing to garner from Republicans.

Polls and endorsements have indicated that Republicans, more or less, are lining up behind Trump with 2024 in sight. Biden, in contrast, has not received nearly that level of support from his fellow Democrats in similar polls or endorsements. Trump, at least thus far, appears to be the 2024 candidate with the most momentum.
