Though the former president has not yet announced a comeback bid for the White House in 2024, there has long been speculation he will do so, most likely after the November midterm elections.
The mention of Ivanka as a running mate does highlight Trump's need to carefully select who will serve as his vice presidential candidate. The process will likely be a controversial one, with the impact of tremendous importance on the support he will receive from voters in his attempt to return to Washington.
