Donald Trump responds to rumors of picking daughter Ivanka as VP

Former President Donald Trump responded to speculation that he would consider his daughter Ivanka Trump as a running mate, confirming he was unlikely to do so.

Trump discussed the idea during an interview with Indian News outlet NDTV.

"Ivanka? My daughter? Never thought of that one," he said when asked. "Well, that's an interesting idea."

Trump then dismissed the idea. "No, I wouldn't," he replied. "Not my daughter."

Though the former president has not yet announced a comeback bid for the White House in 2024, there has long been speculation he will do so, most likely after the November midterm elections.

The mention of Ivanka as a running mate does highlight Trump's need to carefully select who will serve as his vice presidential candidate. The process will likely be a controversial one, with the impact of tremendous importance on the support he will receive from voters in his attempt to return to Washington.
