Donald Trump releases powerful ad after announcing run for president

Former President Donald Trump released his first ad after announcing his 2024 presidential run.

The new 38-second spot offers a powerful look into Trump's plans for 2024.

The message

"Make an entrance. Make a run. And then, make history," the narrator said to start the ad.

"Make a difference. Make good on your word. Make it bigly. But most of all, make it great again. Trump," it added.

There's more

A second ad released on Trump's Truth Social network also added a humorous touch.

"Hi, perhaps you recognize me: it's your favorite president," Kari Lake said.

The ads are in addition to other developments involving the former president, such as his recent reinstatement on Twitter.

Elon Musk recently restored Trump's account after a poll that stood in favor of bringing back the former president, who had been permanently banned after Jan. 6. Truth Social has been very, very powerful, very, very strong and I'll be staying there, but I heard we're getting a big vote to go back on Twitter. I don't see it because I don't see a reason for it," the former president said.

The new efforts are just a preview of the battle that will ramp up in the months ahead as Trump seeks to win the nomination for a potential rematch against President Joe Biden in 2024. First, he'll have to win back his own party, facing much stronger competition as voters are divided over whether to give Trump another chance as the Republican Party candidate.
