Fox host Maria Bartiromo asked the Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe on Sunday Morning Futures about the future and the progress of US Attorney John Durham’s probe into the Obama administration’s investigation of the Trump campaign.
Ratcliffe replied that he is urging Durham to release an “interim” report to let the American people know, at least in part, what Durham is doing. So far, only one person has been charged and convicted with a crime in the matter of the FBI’s now-debunked Crossfire Hurricane investigation. Ratcliffe said what millions of Americans have been thinking:
I think the American people should know what’s happening in a two-year investigation into this and I hope that that report will be forthcoming.
Durham has been tight-lipped and slow in his work, refusing to release any information about his work before the November 3rd election for fear of influencing it. His refusal to release information that would reveal Democrat Joe Biden’s part in the Russia Collusion hoax caused suspicion that he was burying information to protect and help Biden.
According to Gregg Jarret, AG William Barr authorized the release of interim reports: “In order to ensure the American public knows the details of the Trump-Russia probe origins, Attorney General William Barr has authorized Durham to release interim reports before the investigation is complete.”
Ratcliffe pointed out that Durham, recently appointed “special counsel” by Barr, needs to prove that he is investigating in good faith, not burying the evidence of the Russia collusion hoax. Ratcliffe said Durham needs to:
…show whether or not there’s a good faith basis to continue and protect the work that’s been done I would my colleagues over at the Department of Justice and at the FBI and in particular, special counsel Durham, to consider doing that, so that the American people can get the full accounting that they deserve.
In urging the interim report, Ratcliffe affirmed that there are declassified documents that confirm that Obama administration officials knew that Crossfire Hurricane was a hoax. They knew there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Ratcliffe told Fox News:
The documents I have declassified reveal that there are folks in the Biden — or, the Obama-Biden administration, senior national security folks that were aware of the fact that there was no collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign — no intelligence that supported that.”
In the event that Joe Biden gains the White House, Ratcliffe expressed the hope “that John Durham, with all of the documents that I have provided in connection with his investigation from the intelligence community, will provide the full accounting and for there to be folks held accountable that should be.”
Democrats like Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) are indicating that they will try to end the Durham investigation. Schiff issued instructions to Biden’s potential attorney general in a statement. Schiff said, “I would presume the next attorney general will look to see if there is any merit to the work that John Durham is doing and make a rational decision about whether that should continue on any level.”
Time may be running out for Durham. Issue the report!
