Department of Justice accepts Donald Trump's pick for special master

The Department of Justice approved one of former President Donald Trump's recommendations for a special master to review documents seized by the FBI from his Mar-a-Lago home.

Raymond Dearie, a senior U.S. district judge for the Eastern District of New York, was selected, according to a Monday court filing.

"However, all four candidates are still on the table to be chosen. U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon in Florida accepted Trump's bid for a special master to track down any privileged information obtained in the search over the DOJ's objections," the Washington Examiner reported.

"The Trump team and DOJ have also turned in proposals for how to move forward, including over the speed of the third-party review. The DOJ has also signaled it plans to appeal the special master order," it added.

The move would be a rare moment of agreement between Trump and the Justice Department during a turbulent time of controversy.

The final outcome is still undetermined, but it appears Trump will at least get his request in this area as the left continues its attacks.
