Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley said the House select committee is trying to convict former President Donald Trump for being a “terrible person” instead of focusing on evidence of a crime.
Turley shared the remarks during an interview on “Outnumbered” on Monday.

“[T]his is a signature move by Speaker Pelosi. I was highly critical during the impeachment hearings. When in the hearing I testified on with Trump, the House leadership decided to forgo any investigation in the Judiciary Committee, the calling of essential witnesses,” Turley shared.
“I think that so far, they’re trying to convict Donald Trump of being a terrible person,” he added.
The House select committee investigating January 6 is zeroing in on former President Donald Trump, and is preparing to use its platform to argue that he was responsible for grave abuses of power that nearly upended US democracy. https://t.co/MEAqpebKft

After refusing to air the first day of the live hearings, even Fox News chose to broadcast the second day, with many upset over the attention given to the event by the network.
The hearings are clearly one-sided, but it’s unclear what the outcome will be in the televised hearings that appear more about salvaging the midterms for Democrats than about Jan. 6.
