Democratic House member claims Biden isn’t running in 2024

A New York Democratic House member has claimed “off the record” that President Joe Biden will not run again in 2024.

Rep. Carolyn Maloney’s words were shared in a New York Times report on Saturday.

“‘On the record? No, he should not run again,’ Maloney, who is running for reelection in New York’s 12th Congressional district, replied,” according to the Daily Caller.

“This isn’t the first time Maloney was forced to answer whether Biden should or will run again. On August 2nd, during a Democratic primary debate Maloney said of Biden: ‘I don’t believe he’s running for reelection,'” the report added.

Maloney is not the only Democrat claiming Biden won’t run or urging him not to do so. Multiple leaders on the left are suggesting the president should call it quits in 2024 to let another leader run.

The news is especially surprising as the push comes before the November midterms. But even if he does during down a reelection bid, Democrats will still have to find a challenger who can win after a term of sweeping losses for Americans.
