Democrat spending bill funds border security for eight countries, but not for US border wall

A Democrat spending bill that has garnered Republican support includes $370 million in border security for eight countries but no new funding for a wall along the U.S. southern border.

The new spending deal includes support for the nations of Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Oman, Nepal, Libya, and Pakistan.

The bill does preserve $2 billion in previous border wall funds, but does not fund any new border wall construction.

“The upcoming omnibus spending bill is likely Congress’ last chance this year to do anything meaningful re: Biden’s catastrophic erasure of our border,” former Trump adviser Stephen Miller wrote.

“Presently, this isn’t even a topic of conversation, let alone action,” he added.

The new deal shows some Republicans are working with Democrats in other areas, realizing they are not even willing to discuss improvements at the southern border.
