With roughly one week to go before President Joe Biden formally ends the Trump-era Title 42 public health policy that was successful in allowing the U.S. government to immediately turn away illegal aliens, at least one Texas Democrat is sounding the alarm.
According to Breitbart, Texas State Rep. Eddie Morales (D), who manages a border district in the hard-hit state, is calling on the Biden administration to have a change of heart and keep Title 42 in place; otherwise, the state rep says, his district and many others will be overrun.
Morales called attention to the fact that resources have already been stretched razor-thin under Biden’s disastrous border policies, but with Title 42 out of the way, the likely incoming flood of illegal immigrants will deplete what little resources that are left.
During an MSNBC interview, Morales admitted that based on conversations he’s had with Mexican officials, there is a massive number of illegals ready to move across the border starting May 23, when the policy is set to end on Biden’s watch.
“Well, we don’t have the resources in place, either from the state or the federal government to be able to address the number of immigrants and migrants that are crossing. We have video and we’ve been in constant communication with officials from Mexico,” the state lawmaker said.
Morales added: “So, in those conversations with the Mexican officials, we have been privy to a number of videos and a number of [pieces of] information that shows that there [are] over 100,000 migrants just ready for Title 42 to end. We don’t have the resources and we don’t have the manpower to be able to handle that.”
There might be some relief in sight, as a federal judge ruled last week that the policy cannot be lifted. The Biden administration has appealed that ruling and will likely fight vigorously to reverse it.
A judge ruled today Biden can’t end Title 42, the Trump immigration health order that requires asylum seekers to wait outside the U.S. and which expedites deportation.

Only time will tell if the Biden administration comes to its senses and, at the very least, agrees to extend the policy while Congress figures out another way to deal with the immigration crisis.
