Dem. polling firm tells candidates to abandon COVID mandates or risk electoral ruin

Amid fears on the left of an impending electoral catastrophe in November comes news of a memo by a top Democrat-affiliated polling firm telling party insiders that it is time to call an end to COVID-19 restrictions once and for all or “risk paying dearly for it” at the hands of Republican candidates such as those endorsed by former President Donald Trump, as The Blaze reports.

The firm at issue, Impact Research, has a history of working with such Democrat luminaries as former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, President Joe Biden, and a host of progressive advocacy groups including Planned Parenthood.

As The Blaze noted, Punchbowl News reported that Impact Research disseminated a memo to scores of Democrat campaign staffers and consultants under the title “Taking the Win over COVID-19,” and in it, the firm warned that a failure to back down on pandemic-related mandates and restrictions would likely lead to devastating defeats at the ballot box in mere months.

The memo explained, “It’s time for Democrats to take credit for ending the COVID crisis phase of the COVID war, point to important victories like vaccine distribution and providing economic stability to Americans, and fully enter the rebuilding phase that comes after any war.”

Candidates were urged to “Recognize that people are worn out; and feeling real harm from the years-long restrictions and take their side.” adding, “[t]he more we talk about the threat of COVID and onerously restrict people’s lives because of it, the more we turn them against us and show them we’re out of touch with their daily realities.”

Painting a stark picture of what could occur if liberals stay dug in on COVID authoritarianism, the memo declares, “And, if Democrats continue to hold a posture that prioritizes COVID precautions over learning how to live in a world where COVID exists, but does not dominate, they risk paying dearly for it in November.”

And just like that, the COVID threats that were used to browbeat Americans into submission for nearly two years began to melt away like magic, with liberal leaders in New York – an area that has long had some of the strictest mitigation mandates in the country – announcing that it would lift vaccine mandates for entry to dining, entertainment venues, and indoor places of business.

As of Monday, Democrat-controlled Chicago also declared mask and vaccine mandates for restaurants, bars, fitness centers, and the like to be officially over, joining cities such as Boston and Seattle, which have made similar moves in recent weeks and marked a dramatic shift from where things have stood for months.

Lo and behold, just one day ahead of Biden’s State of the Union address set for Tuesday, it was also announced that masks would no longer be required in the White House or on the floor of the House of Representatives, declarations that – in light of the Impact Research memo – only reinforce what millions have suspected all along – that a host of COVID-19 rules and restrictions were based largely in one branch of science alone – political science.
