Darrell Issa calls for investigation into Hatch Act violations committed by CIA employees who pushed partisan agenda

Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA) is calling on the Central Intelligence Agency Inspector General to investigate CIA employees that were found to have committed possible Hatch Act violations by pushing "partisan political interests."

Issa sent a letter Wednesday demanding the Inspector General act on the findings of the Judiciary Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.

Allegedly, CIA employees were working to advance then-presidential candidate Joe Biden's agenda according to the 65-page “interim report,” written with input from the Judiciary Committee and Intel Committee.

This is the first move by Republicans in Congress to finally hold the intelligence community responsible for their blatant partisanship.

Drain the swamp

Issa's letter pulled no punches as he stated, "I am writing to request your office investigate the participation of CIA employees in the coverup of the Hunter Biden laptop story in the final days leading up to the 2020 Presidential election. Recently revealed information provided to Congressional investigators suggests that taxpayer resources and CIA staff may have been used to aid the Biden 2020 presidential campaign."

Most importantly, Issa pointed out that "These employees may not take an active role in political activity, even while off duty."

The Biden administration has been predictably nontransparent about the intelligence community's political activities. If it weren't for Republican efforts, we would never have gotten the truth about the letter claiming that the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian disinformation.

Clearly, the Biden administration cannot be trusted to hold bad actors accountable. As such, it is imperative that the CIA's Inspector General do his due diligence.

Issa issued a separate statement to Breitbart News saying, "No one is buying that the Biden Administration can credibly and transparently investigate itself. This is why the Inspectors General exist: To provide an independent and reliable review of the executive branch when we can’t trust its own people."

It's going to be a massive fight, but if Republicans want to clean out our intelligence community and drain the swamp, they will have to be demanding and not give the Biden administration any leeway.

Preventing future election interference

It is imperative that Republicans fix this problem before the 2024 presidential election. The intelligence community's letter on the Hunter Biden laptop story protected Joe Biden from having his entire campaign destroyed.

Democrats have done nothing but complain about former President Donald Trump's supposed election denial while simultaneously ignoring the very blatant election interference committed by those who we should be able to trust.

Issa continued in his statement to Breitbart News by saying, "The CIA knows the truth here: Either one or more of its employees committed an extreme Hatch Act violation and tampered in the 2020 election – or didn’t. The fact that our committee is being stonewalled on what is essentially a simple question only strengthens our resolve to get the truth."

There is no telling what will happen in next year's presidential election if the CIA isn't held accountable.
