Court orders Michael Avenatti to pay over $148k to Stormy Daniels

Disgraced lawyer Michael Avenatti has been ordered to pay his former client Stormy Daniels $148,740.

The requirement was made to cover the remaining funds Avenatti owed to Daniels for money taken from her book deal that included the lawyer forging her signature.

"Avenatti previously compensated Daniels for some of the $300,000 he allegedly embezzled from her, and the $148,740 restitution figure is intended to cover the remaining amount," the Washington Examiner reported.

"Daniels's onetime lawyer is currently behind bars serving out a prison sentence for multiple crimes. This includes a four-year sentence for the wire fraud and aggravated identity theft charges pertaining to the embezzlement Daniels was convicted of in February," it added.

Avenatti continues to fight against the sentencing again former President Donald Trump.

The lawyer's battles also include a blackmail case involving Nike that led to a more than two-year prison sentence as part of the lawyer's ongoing legal battles.
