Court LGBTQ Decision Is Formula for Chaos

The U.S. Supreme Court has decided that homosexual and transgender individuals are covered by the anti-discrimination provision, Title VII, of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Associate Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote in his opinion: “An employer who fires an individual for being homosexual or transgender fires that person for traits or actions it would not have questioned in members of a different sex. Sex plays a necessary and undisguisable role in the decision, exactly what Title VII forbids.”

When I read the reasoning of Gorsuch, I feel less surprised by the chaos in our cities, and our great difficulties and challenges in enforcing the law.

How indeed can we expect sanity in enforcing our laws when such confusion exists in our nation’s highest court about what our law is, and even what our country is about?

The key words in our nation’s Declaration of Independence are “all men are created equal.”

Created equal.

The horrible history of racial oppression and discrimination in America flew in the face of that great founding premise. People were rejected because of how they were created, not because of how they behaved.

This was exactly the sentiment Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. expressed in his famous dream, that his children would “not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

King dreamed that his children would be judged by their choices, not the condition, outside of their control and choice, in which God put them on this Earth.

Abraham Lincoln got to the heart of the matter when he mocked Stephen Douglas’ claim that states should vote on whether they would permit slavery because this was based on the biblical principle that man has the power of choice.

“God did not place good and evil before man, telling him to make his choice,” said Lincoln. “On the contrary,” continued Lincoln, “he did tell him there was one tree, of the fruit of which he should not eat, upon pain of certain death.”

Man has choice, said Lincoln. But only in a country where there is no standard and conviction of right and wrong does it not matter what you choose.

The essence of a free country is allowing citizens freedom to make and be responsible for their own choices.

To limit that freedom because of circumstance of birth — race or sex — is to make a mockery of freedom.

But to claim, as Douglas did, that once given freedom, it doesn’t matter what individuals choose — that there are no standards for right and wrong, good and evil — is to also make a mockery of freedom.

Gorsuch equates our protection against discrimination because of one’s circumstances of birth with discrimination against the choices individuals make.

This is a formula for exactly what we have today: chaos.

America must be free. Individuals must be free to choose their behavior. But we undermine our religious freedom and all our freedoms when we prohibit private individuals from rejecting behavior they find immoral.

This moral chaos is exactly what has caused such damage in our at-risk communities.

Rampant abortion, promiscuity and the collapse of marriage — all of which have caused so much damage in our nation, particularly in our at-risk communities — are the result of reasoning like what we now have heard from Gorsuch.

Sen. Tim Scott strikes at the heart of the matter in a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal. “If you have two parents in the household, you reduce poverty in the African-American community by 85%. That’s a stunning truth that needs more oxygen.”

The right choices lead to better lives.

A society that cannot distinguish between what God creates and what man chooses is a society not capable of being free. This is what our very confused Supreme Court is delivering to us.

  1. I am not very proud of the appointment of Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
    During Trump’s second term he probably
    is going to be able to appoint at least 2 more members to the Supreme Court. He better be sure that he or she is indeed conservative and will vote that way. Unlike Gorsuch and Roberts whom I feel are becoming more liberal at each ruling!!

    1. Roberts was a closet Liberal when he was appointed… and Dubya knew it. He showed his true colors right out of the gate with his backing of Obamacare… and hasn’t detoured from that road. Gorsuch, has still been more to the right of the middle of the road. This protection for the jobs of LGBTQ is not necessarily liberal. As they have often quoted (usually in discussion of NAZIs, Communists, Orwellian/1984, etc.), the principle… that we need to be very vigilant on discrimination or removal/retraction of personal liberties and protections… because, today… it might be (name the group), then (name the group), but if that continues… when will it be you. Unfortunately, in the society that we exist today… we have, through poor elected choices… Clinton, both Bushes, Barack Hussein… put ourselves in the same situation as the frog placed in the cooking pot… if it was thrown into a already boiling pot of water… it would immediately jump right back out, but… if calmly placed in the same pot… but… with tepid/lukewarm water, and the heat slowly being turned up… by the time the frog notices… Too Late. That is how we as a Constitution-loving-freedom-loving Republic… have been sliding down a slippery slope… with the infusion of Socialist (Communist), factions in our Academia… and, due to Barack Hussein’s actions of removing the burden for proof of truth from the media… and the appointments of liberal judges… here we are… now fighting for our 250-plus years of Constitutional protection… with our backs against the wall and the most dire, critical election coming up… and the fascist censorship and fake news undermining our final, last-ditch efforts.

  2. Judges are usually lawyers and lawyers have a practice of giving away small or insignificant cases as insurance to hope to win a future larger and more significant case, I wonder if this what brought forth his and Roberts (who I am very disappointed with) votes.

  3. Roberts is being bribed I believe. That man rejects anything that Republicans try to do and let Obama get away with laws that he made in Daca and Roberts said go ahead. Come on Supreme Court the people are not that sdtupid. I agree I have a problem with the new Republican justice also.

  4. The only thing that is going to get this country back in order is a civil war. Get rid of the communists, ( blm ) antifa, black Panthers,and the rest of the pos that don’t want to aside by the rule of laws in this country…..once and for all. It’s coming….make no mistake about it.

    1. The war has been going on for almost four years now. Remember the left hate guns, this war is being fought with mind and media control. The division they are creating, they blame on the other side and people are buying it. They have turned a 98% survival rate virus into a biological weapon, forcing the lockdown and destroying the Economy. And Blame the right for it!

      Shouldn’t everyone in the country want to make America great again? The left flat out say repeatedly, it’s a bad thing. Think about that.

    Tell me who your friends, or beliefs are with, and I can tell
    you who you may become. I feel Judge Gorsuch did a “blunder”
    With his vote. He opened the doors wide for total dissension from my point of view! I would like to read from professional
    Opinions from Psychiatrist & Psychologist. I’ve read recently that there are many Homosexuals & transgenders” have regretted their life choices!!
