Cop calmly stops active shooter with rifle from 180 yards

A Washington State police officer is becoming known for newly released body cam footage that shows him taking down an active shooter with a single rifle shot from 180 yards.

KIRO-7 TV shared the footage with the public on Tuesday in what has become a viral video.

"The Pierce County Force Investigation Team released the video as part of its ongoing investigation into the shooting. Investigators concluded Collins fired off 15 rounds, while Tacoma police officers returned nine rounds, all of them over a 16-minute period," KIRO-7 reported.

"The last shot came from a TPD officer, identified as Christopher Munn, who fired his weapon 183 yards away," it added.

While many in Washington are focused on defunding the police or limiting gun rights, this officer has reached legendary status for protecting people in his community through the proper use of his firearm.

The video is sure to be used as an example in the days ahead when social justice warriors blast law enforcement. The officer's heroic shot saved the day in epic fashion.
