Republican House members have launched a rebellion against wearing masks in the Democrat-led chamber, according to a report by the Washington Times.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has continued to require members to wear masks despite the Centers for Disease Control’s announcement that fully vaccinated individuals no longer need to wear a mask in most situations.
Rep. Thomass Massie (R-KY) tweeted, “We’ve had enough.”
We’ve had enough. We are refusing to wear our masks on the floor during this vote in spite of Pelosi’s threat to take $500 from each of us.
Her rule is not based on science. All you need to know is the mask rule has only ever applied to members when they can be seen on TV !

Members can be fined $500 for a first offense and $2,500 for a second, according to the Washington Times report.
Massie tweeted he has already been fined once by Pelosi for not wearing a mask.
“This has never been about science,” he tweeted. “It has always been about power.”
I have been fined $500 by @SpeakerPelosi for following CDC guidance.
This was never about science. It has always been about power.

In contrast, the Senate has not required members to wear masks.
